Nidale Al-Amyouni Daccache

Associate Professor of Arabic Literature

Dr. Nidale Al-Amyouni Daccache is an associate professor in the Department of Liberal Studies. She joined LAU in 2004 as a part-time assistant professor of Arabic Literature, became full-time assistant professor in 2009, and was promoted to associate professor in 2015. Dr. Daccache’s research encompasses the History of Arabic Literature and Heritage, Contemporary Literature and Literary Criticism. She has contributed significantly to these fields through extensive publications in academic journals across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Additionally, she is the author of two notable books: Ta’ al-Rahm Ila Ta’ al-A’wlama, which was submitted for the Sheikh Zayed Prize, and Thaherat al-Zamn fi al-She’r al-A’arabi al-Qadeem, which has been integrated into the PhD program at Tamanghasset University in Algeria.

Research Interests

Dr. Daccache’s research interests focus on three key areas: the history of Arabic literature and heritage (تراث), contemporary Arabic literature (معاصر), and literary criticism (نقد). She is committed to advancing Arabic studies through innovative teaching methods and critical research approaches.

Dr. Daccache teaches a variety of courses, including Arabic Literature, Standard Arabic I–II, Appreciation of Arabic Literature and Abbasid Poetry, Trends in Modern Arabic Literature, Modern Arabic Poetry, Arabic Drama, Classical Prose, Developmental Arabic and Modern Arabic Novel and Short Story. Additionally, she is actively involved in organizing and participating in academic and cultural events that foster discussions on Arabic culture and literature.

As a member of the Center for Lebanese Heritage Publications at LAU and a contributor to Salon 15 – Nawal Al Hiwar, Dr. Daccache plays a key role in promoting Lebanese and Arab culture. She also facilitates conferences and workshops through her role on the Administrative Board of Halqat al-Hiwar al-Thaqafi.
